Buyer’s guide
Choose around the job, the site, and the delivery.
A container that looks right on a product page still has to fit the intended use, access route, placement surface, and local requirements.

Define the use
List what will be stored or performed inside, how often people need access, climate sensitivity, security needs, occupancy, utilities, and whether the unit may be moved again.
Choose a size
Compare the usable footprint, interior height, door opening, access route, and available placement area. Confirm recorded dimensions on the individual product page.
Match the type
Dry containers suit general storage. Reefers support temperature-sensitive uses. Open-top and flat-rack units support unusual loading. Offices, cabins, pools, sanitation, and modified units serve specialist projects.
New versus used
New or one-trip units usually show less wear. Used containers can provide strong value while showing dents, scratches, repairs, or surface corrosion. Review the exact listing and request clarification before payment.
Plan the base
Prepare a firm, level, well-drained placement area with suitable support at the corner castings. Soil, climate, utilities, intended use, and local rules may require qualified professional advice.
Check access
Review gate width, turns, slopes, overhead lines, branches, eaves, soft ground, delivery-equipment space, final placement, and the required door orientation.
Size comparison
Start with the footprint, then confirm the listing.
Container measurements and features vary by product. Use this planning guide to narrow the catalog, then confirm the recorded dimensions, door opening, condition, and specifications on the selected listing.
| Type | Common fit | Planning priority |
|---|---|---|
| 10ft | Compact storage and constrained sites | Verify access and usable internal area |
| 20ft | Balanced capacity for storage and work sites | Confirm loading access and door orientation |
| 40ft | Higher-capacity storage and larger projects | Allow for the longer approach and placement area |
| High Cube | Projects that benefit from additional interior height | Check total exterior height and overhead clearance |
| Specialty | Refrigeration, offices, open-top, flat-rack, pools, and modified uses | Confirm utilities, equipment, access, and product-specific requirements |
